Carolyn Jennings Brown has been serving public schools in the state of Texas for nearly two decades. She has a unique perspective that spans from being the daughter of an educator, a student, a teacher and a parent. Today, Carolyn travels all over the state of Texas and shares her Anti-Bullying/ Pro-Kindness presentation, “Hey Dude, Nice Shoes” with students of all ages and their parents. During this empowering and inspiring workshop, Carolyn shares her unique experiences and stories in a passionate and honest way to educate the two separate generations on this sensitive topic and bridge the gap of understanding about growing up. The recent passing of SB 179 has greatly impacted the laws pertaining to cyberbullying in the state of Texas. During the presentation, participants will discuss SB 179 and the pieces of David's law that impact the school environment. We will also discuss many solutions including dozens have youth-led initiatives that have helped create a wave of positivity throughout the current generation of students. Hey Dude, Nice Shoes has been presented to over 15,000 Texas students this past school year. It is also regularly presented at the Texas State PTA LAUNCH convention.
